Fallen Ex-Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick Gets 5 Years In The Slammer For Probation Violations…

Former Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick was sentenced to 18 months to five years in state prison today for violating probation,eliciting shocked reactions and gasps from his supporters inside the packed court room of Detroit Judge David Groner.

It was discovered that Kwame Kilpatrick had lied while on probation and maliciously hid money that was supposed to go toward repaying the City of Detroit $1 million in restitution that he misappropriated, and he and his family had settled into a $1 million home outside Dallas, continued to drive expensive vehicles, and had spent thousands so that Carlita Kilpatrick, the mayor’s wife, could have elective surgery.(SOURCE)

Since his release from prison, Kwame had settled into a new job a software salesman for the Compuware Corporation in Dallas, Texas.
