Hunters in the Philippines have successfully captured alive, 21-foot crocodile over the weekend that has been blamed for a pair of lethal attacks on the villagers there.(See Pictures Here!!!)

The crocodile is suspected in the deaths of a local farmer,who went missing in July, and for eating a 12-year-old girl, identified as Rowena Romano, whose head was bitten off two years ago.(Source)

The Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center said it is the largest crocodile caught in the Philippines to date,and the largest captive crocodile on record was only a mere 18 feet…this one is 21 feet,600 kilograms ( 2,370 pounds)!!!(Source)
Mayor Edwin Elorde said Tuesday that the giant croc will become the star of a planned ecotourism and conservation park near the Agusan Marsh, Bunawan.(CNN)
“We will take advantage of this crocodile as a tourism attraction and we hope it will help us generate income and jobs,” Elorde reported to the media.(Source)

He hopes that, rather than eating tourist, that the crocodile will boost tourism to his city, and hopes to get the authorities from the Guinness Book of World records to acknowledge the croc, as being the largest one anywhere in captivity.
The crocodile has been named Lolong-after the lead hunter who planned the capture of the man-eater, Ernesto “Lolong” Conate,but died of a stroke days before the hunt began.
Lolong, the male crocodile was captured after 3 weeks of hunting, with the help of a heavy metal cable and at least 30 men.(BBC)
It is believed to be at least 50 years old, and it took roughly 100 people to pull the beast from a creek by rope and then hoist it by crane onto a truck.
The villagers are not at ease at the capture of Lolong, because there have been sightings of a much larger crocodile in the area, so they are not certain that Lolong was the one responsible for the killings.(CBS)

Experts explain that the destruction and intrusion on the giant crocodiles natural habitat by humans, lead to them feeding on human beings.If left undisturbed in their natural habitats, crocodiles are unlikely to eat humans despite their carnivorous nature, and that crocodiles turn extra aggressive during their breeding season from April to September.(Source)

It is being reported that the gunman was carrying a semi-automatic weapon,and that he has shot and wounded several people.

There currently are no reports of death, but two women and one man were Care-Flighted to the Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno , while another victim was taken by ground ambulance.(USA Today)

A police spokesman had no immediate information on the cause or circumstances of his death, but did report that there were vodka and prescription medication found at the scene, and that Lane’s death is being treated as an accidental overdose or a possible death from natural causes.(TMZ)

Lane is best known as the singer for the band Warrant, a rock hair band that rose to fame in the late-1980′s and early 1990′s behind the Jani Lane penned song,Cherry Pie. which was a multi-platinum hit for them,shooting them to super rock status stardom, as well as making Lane the object of many teen adolescnt girl affection.(Jani Lane-Wiki)
As high and as quick as Warrant shot to fame, Warrant, along with several other bands of its genre, such as Poison and Slaughter, saw their star power quickly decline in the 1990s as grunge bands such as Nirvana and Pearl Jam moved into the mainstream.(USA Today)
They even became the object of disdain in a series of running jokes about how much they sucked,the popular 90’s MTV animated cartoon, Beavis and Butthead. All they had to say is that…“We like bands that are cool” and “We don’t like bands that suck”.

Even though a side character on Beavis and Butthead , a dorky loser named Stewart, was depicted wearing a Warrant t-shirt, the inference about Warrant fans being like Stewart, were made fun of so much that they quit listening to Warrant or just stopped because Stewart made them all look like pathetic losers and posers.(Slate)
After that fall from grace, Warrant continued on performing in much smaller venues, in little towns,and with no record label support at all.They basically toured off of their past hits,to less than entusiastic, and sometimes geriatric crowds.
I had the opportunity to meet Lane backstage at such a show in a small auditorium in Huntington Beach in 1996, where a friend’s local garage band was the opening act for Warrant. Jani Lane was a cool, and gracious person to me, and when he did finally did hit the stage, he was slightly inebriated,but gave a rousing and professional performance,to the cheering crowd.

Lane eventually chose to quit the band in 1993, only to rejoin the following year. But he again resigned once more in 2004, and was missing in action for four years before eventually returning again.
That reunion lasted less than a year, before Lane’s third and final departure from the band.
Lane was known to have a history of alcohol issues, including a number of drinking-and-driving charges.
He was ordered to serve 120 days in jail after he was arrested for DUI in 2010,which was his second DUI in two years.
Lane had also was a contestant on the VH1 series “Celebrity Fit Club”.(Source)

Three fugitive siblings, known as the Dougherty clan, who are wanted for a crime spree in Florida and Georgia,have been captured in Colorado Wednesday, after a high-speed chase and crashing their car into a highway barrier.(Source)

Ryan Dougherty has 14 felony arrests and sister Lee Grace Dougherty has five arrests for hit-and-run and several misdemeanors.
Lee Dougherty pleaded guilty to the DUI charge and to driving with a suspended license last month. She was sentenced to a year of probation.
She was on the run by the time a probation officer made a home visit Aug. 3 in Merritt Island, Fla.
