This year at the annual weeklong bullfighting festival in Colombia, which has been a tradition in the country for over 150 years, so far, 48 people have been injured, and ,on an average, at least 20 bullfighters are expected to be gored to death, by the tortured and tormented bulls, during the festival.

Unlike most countries that condone the public torturing of bulls, in Colombia it is forbidden to kill the bulls in the ring, but the Picadores still stab the bulls with lances, mounted on horses, injuring and mortally wounding the bull, who in turn,fights violently to cling to its life.

Why it is called a fight, I will never understand, because it is obviously not a fair fight. As practiced, it is, from what I have witnessed, the public abuse and torturing of a defenseless animal, that is left to defend himself in the only way that it can, and that is with its girth, and horns.
