Three fugitive siblings, known as the Dougherty clan, who are  wanted for a crime spree in Florida and Georgia,have been captured in Colorado  Wednesday, after a high-speed chase and crashing their car into a highway barrier.(Source)

Lee Grace Dougherty, 29, and her two brothers, Ryan Edward Dougherty, 21, and Dylan Dougherty Stanley 26, have been on the run since Aug. 2 after allegedly shooting at a police officer in Florida during a high-speed chase. They also face charges for robbing a Georgia bank with assault weapons.(NPR)

The oldest of the siblings, professional stripper sister Lee Grace Dougherty, was chased through a field until she turned on a pursuing officer with an automatic pistol and tried to shoot him.

Her injuries were not serious and she was transported along with brothers Ryan Edward Dougherty, 21, and Dylan Dougherty Stanley, 26, to Spanish Peak Medical Center for treatment.

 The three Florida siblings had eluded law enforcement for more than a week until they were taken into custody Wednesday in Pueblo, Colo.

The siblings’ mother, Barbara Bell of East Palatka, Fla.,stated to the gathering media…”I’m sorry. I’m making no comment at this time,” said Bell, who last week had urged the trio to give up before there was bloodshed.

Ryan Dougherty has 14 felony arrests and sister Lee Grace Dougherty has five arrests for hit-and-run and several misdemeanors.

Lee Dougherty pleaded guilty to the DUI charge and to driving with a suspended license last month. She was sentenced to a year of probation.

She was on the run by the time a probation officer made a home visit Aug. 3 in Merritt Island, Fla.
