10-Foot Gator Chomp’s Down On A Florida Police Cruiser!!!…Take’s A Bite Out Of Crime(Video)

Talk about taking a bite out of crime!?!?

The AP has captured on tape a 10 foot alligator chomping down on the bumper of a Florida Deputy sheriff’s police cruiser.

Authorities say the attack happened near a country club as the deputy was waiting for a trapper to show up.

The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office said Deputy Victor Borrero was dispatched to the south end of Gainesville Golf and Country Club, which borders Payne’s Prairie Preserve State Park, about 7 p.m. Saturday on a report of a large gator in the area, the Ocala Star-Banner reported Wednesday.

Sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Todd Kelly said the deputy located the alligator and was waiting for a licensed trapper to arrive when the large reptile bit down on the front bumper of his patrol car. The deputy slowly backed up the vehicle to cause the alligator to release its grip and the trapper soon arrived on the scene.(Source)

Deputy Borrero was driving a tasty Crown Victoria, and by all reports, the gator must have like how it tasted, because the cruiser suffered severe damage.(Source)

I am glad for the gator, that this is one time the police chose not to use excessive force in stopping the perp’s attack…(Sun)
