Dem. congresswoman Rep. Jackie Speier took to the House floor late on Thursday night, to respond to the graphic, and horrific description of a routine abortion delivered by New Jersey Republican Chris Smith,in his effort to sway more votes against Planned Parenthood.(Source)

Her story took a poignant and personal turn,unexpectedly.(WIKI)

“That procedure that you just talk about was a procedure that I endured,” she told a hushed chamber. “I really planned to speak about something else, but the gentleman from New Jersey just put my stomach in knots, because I’m one of those women he spoke about just now. I had a procedure at 17 weeks pregnant with a child who moved from the vagina into the cervix.”(VIDEO)

After a weighty pause, Speier went on. “I lost a baby,” she said, pausing again. “But for you to stand on this floor and suggest, as you have, that somehow this is a procedure that is either welcomed or done cavalierly or done without any thought is preposterous…”she testfied.(Source)

She is the first congessmember to ever publicly admit to having undergone an abortion.

I bet some past male members have caused women to have an abortion in order for them to save face…but they would never be brave enough to admit it, for any reason…

Her story suggests that, just like the doctors, scientist, experts, and non-objective researchers have all reported, there are more than selfish reasons why a woman may need to undergo an abortion.(Source)
