Dr. Kermit Gosnell and his Women Medical Society clinic in West Philadelphia which served mostly low-income minority women for years, his wife and eight other suspects are now under arrest following a grand jury investigation surrounding the murder of seven newborns who were killed with scissors and of a female patient who died of an overdose of anesthetics.(HuffPo)

Dr. Gosnell allegedly performed late-term abortions in unsanitary conditions and let unlicensed employees ,including a 15-year-old girl, assist him in the illegal operations. Dr.Gosnell himself, is not a board-certified obstetrician nor a gynecologist.(Slate)

Gosnell is facing charges of murder in the third degree for the death of 41-year-old Karnamaya Mongar. Mrs. Mongar died on November 20, 2009, when she was overdosed with anesthetics prescribed by Gosnell. He is also facing seven murder charges for the deaths of infants who were killed after being born viable and alive during the sixth, seventh, or eighth month of pregnancy. Gosnell is also facing numerous other charges.(CBS)

Dr. Gosnell regularly performed abortions beyond the 24-week limit prescribed by law. As a result, many viable ,live babies were born,only to have their fragile lives ended when their spinal cords were severed by the doctor who cut them with a pair of scissors!!!

The D.A. Seth Williams says he charged as much as $3,000 for an illegal post-24-week abortion, and said that Dr.Gosnell made approximately $1.8 million in one year alone performing the procedures!!!(Source)
The District Attorney pointed out that the Department of Health and the Department of State, have oversight in checking up on the compliance of such clinic’s ,but those agencies did not take the time to investigate, observe, view, follow-up,or even to go to the clinic to see for themselves, since 1993.
… a grand jury investigation found that health and licensing officials had received repeated reports about Gosnell’s dangerous practices for two decades, but no action was ever taken, even after the agencies learned that women had died during routine abortions under Gosnell’s care, Williams said in a statement….(CNN)
“A doctor who cuts into the necks severing the spinal cords of living, breathing babies, who would survive with proper medical attention, is committing murder under the law,” District Attorney Seth Williams added.(Source)
Prosecutors said Wednesday that a search of Dr. Gosnell’s clinic had turned up bags and bottles that contained aborted fetuses.

…how sick is that???, and if you worked there as an assistant to Dr. Gosnell,…why wouldn’t you report such grisly, bizarre illegal behavior!?!
Dr.Gosnell, who insists he is innocent, is facing several other charges, including infanticide, conspiracy, abortion at 24 or more weeks of pregnancy, corpse abuse, theft, corruption of minors, solicitation, and third degree murder in the death of the 41-year old patient.(Source)

The evidence and involved in this case has shocked even the most experienced and hardened criminal investigators,who were disgusted by the grisly collection of baby body parts uncovered in the doctor’s office at the clinic.
I wonder if, had this clinic been serving clients that were not low-income,poor, minorities, if it would have been investigated quicker???…

I look at abortion this way there are Dr’s out there that care and when ya need an abortion because you were raped then you should be allowed to have one, how-ever I also feel if you are not raped and you are in the third term that abortion should not be allowed at all and when my best freind had one they didn’t hear a heart beat all they could see was a small egg she was three weeks along and didn’t want to bring the baby into the world because there were other health issues for her to, if she would have had the baby instead of an abortion she would have died the third term because her body couldn’t handle the load.She died three yrs later.. I also feel to have an abortion should be up to the woman that wants it and that same person should have to pay for it as well, but before most abortions there is a counselor and they do pictures of the tummy there are steps before anything is started and the Dr does give you a chance to change your mind.Most legal Dr’s won’t do a third term abortion and this guy was wrong in what he did, thats what happens to greedy people they don’t care as long as they get their money, back in the 30’s 40’s we had people do abortions in alleys with just a dirty knife and a folding table and we are headed for that again..

In some ways abortion is better than bringing a baby in the world filled with dope,that the parents could be on and then end up in foster care homes because no wanted the child that has dope running threw its veins or it has health issues. We have babies all over the states living in foster care and some never know love or have a parent and the American folks still adopt foreign children everyday when they could adopt one here, how sad.. Abortion is handled differently in every country it happens to those that can afford to pay for it while others just cost the state money to try and raise it. China only allows 2 kids per family and girls use to be put down or killed and they just saved boys so if you were living in china and had two kids at home already they would give you an abortion for the third child and then make sure you couldn’t have anymore kids before ya left the hospital..Tell me with all the babies born here and if we didn’t allow abortion who would pay for all these children? When we are going broke, abortion should be allowed and left up to the individual that wants one but only to a point if they wait to long then they cannot have one and then have to have the baby and give it up. And be fixed so they cannot have any more children ever..
