What you are witnessing in the video above is a classic Grab and Run robbery, where the intended victim was to be relieved of the purse she is carrying around her shoulder.

Grab and snatch purse robbery.

The goal of a grab and run robbery, is to come from behind someone, and suddenly attack them,but mainly snatch from them whatever it is that you are trying to steal.

It differs slightly from the more chaotic Smash and Grab style of thievery, where there is usually a car or vehicle involved with crashing through a door, window, or glass barrier, and snatch up all the goods, like packs of cigarettes, liquor, loot, and/or cold hard cash.

The goal in these type of robberies is not to hurt anybody,maybe slightly injure someone if they fight back, but generally, crackheads do not want to go through the trouble of fighting,or face a murder conviction over what usually amounts to a minor financial lose to the victims.

In the case of a purse snatching, or wallet snatching, it can be an inconvenience to the victim, as well as inflict  physical and mental distress to the crime victim.

Most recent grab and run robberies have been to steal expensive laptop computers from their owners, while the victim is using it in coffee shops, bars, or restaurants that offer internet connectivity.

Most of the times the crimes happen so fast, the police have to rely upon video surveillance in order to attain a description of the criminal, in order to arrest him or her.

This is the case in Los Angeles, where the police are investigating a recent grab and run attempted purse snatching.

The AP is reporting that police in Los Angeles are looking for a man who punched and kicked a woman, all in a failed attempt to steal her purse.

The entire incident was captured on a series of security cameras and the woman suffered only minor injuries.

As you can see, she bravely fights off the attacker, but police inform us that it is their recommendation that if this happens to you, to just let go of the purse,so that the crime does not escalate.

One never knows what an attacker will do to steal from a victim, so, why try to find out.

Fortunately for this victim, she got away with only a few bruises, but she did not get her purse stolen.

She must really like that purse, because she gave the attacker some good licks!…
