Oakland Police Kill Arthritic Dog For Barking At Them After They Forced Their Way In To Her Home…Another Sad Case Of Police Brutality.
I once had a good friend who was the son of a respected friend of our family who was murdered by the Oakland Police department for no reason in the 90’s, and I have refused to go to that city ever since, because I have not gotten over it.
A yellow lab like Gloria, who was killed by the Oakland Police for being a dog.
Today, comes a report out of that city, that goes to show me that the police in Oakland have not changed their ways, and their viciousness does not end with just the black man, but extends itself to include mans best friend, as well.
Police in Oakland shot and killed an arthritic, 11-year-old yellow Labrador Retriever in its backyard Tuesday while responding to a burglar alarm the dog accidentally tripped while her owner was out running errands.

Officers said the dog, Gloria, growled and barked at them, she advanced towards them, and they unloaded their guns into the poor animal.(USA Today)
As in the case of Oscar Grant, the Oakland police department has a shoot first, ask questions later policy, because that is what they are doing to man, and animal.
To make matters worst, they handled the killing in a very callous manner.

Mary Kate Hallock the dog’s owner, returned to her home from running errands Tuesday and found a note reading: “Oakland police responded to your residence to investigate a burglar alarm. While circling the rear perimeter, lab advanced on officers in a threatening manner before being shot and killed.”(Source)
Oakland police shot Gloria three times with a 40-caliber Glock handgun in the family’s backyard.…once in the head!!!
The family, including the children, are devastated by the murder of their beloved pet, and ,as usual, the thin blue line is protecting the obvious wrongdoing of the Oakland officer, by attempting to rationalize the murder.
Can you imagine what would happen to our pets, if the postal delivery person would kill every animal that barked at them?
They left her owner a note.
You must know that the dog in question was 11-year-old, and was suffering from arthritis, which restricted her movement, as well as other health issues.
Gloria suffered from hip dysplasia and other joint ailments that hamper dogs of this age,and it prevented her from moving freely, Hallock said. She barked occasionally at strangers, but her nerves would quickly dissolve into friendly tail-wagging.
…so she was in her own backyard, and got nervous when strangers entered the yard uninvited,as a good dog should do.
O.P.D. will kill at will!!!
Why these cops killed her, is beyond me. What I do know is that they will never name the murderous officer, and they will conduct a cursory, faux investigation, and do nothing about it.
Oakland police have already publicly defended the shooting as a necessary action, even before they have begun the investigation, so don’t hold your breath for any justice for this deceased dog, Gloria.
They did the same thing to my friend, and they will continue to do this type of thing as long as we, the people allow them to get away with it.
“My heart goes out to the family,” said police spokesman Jeff Thomason. “We never want to go into a situation where we hurt a family pet, but in the course of doing our job, sometimes we have to make split-second decisions.”(Source)

Not only are our lives in danger in Oakland, because of the intimidation presented by a rogue police force, but our animals and pets are threatened as well!
Are we as a people going to continue to allow this to happen?
If this murder of Gloria the dog does not convince you, then stay tuned, because I a pretty certain that there will be more victims killed by the Oakland..Shoot First…police department, and it could be one of your family members…

So how can all of us stop this police force from killing family pets that cannot defend themselves. Stupid officers should know when a old dog cannot wag its tail that its slow and old, I am sure they use every excuse in the book to shoot it. I wish all of us out there could make then shooting officer do community time at the shelter for pets for about 400 hours and he should have to pay a fine of 2,000 for animal abuse for that is just what this is. All of us need to have our voices heard abusing animals is against the law in Tx, Co, Ga, Va, Mexico, animals have rights maybe the owner needs to press charges against the police force for animal abuse, the dog was on its own property so who invaded who?
