NYC Bridge Burst Into Flames!!!!…Commuter Train Service Halted.

A spectacular fire broke out underneath the 138th Street Bridge at about 11:38 a.m. those morning,when a wooden pier beneath the bridge that serves as a bumper for ships caught fire for some unknown reason, that is under investigation.(ABC)

A fire erupts under the 138th Street lift bridge, which carries all Metro-North trains.

The fire was put out, and the Fire department is hosing the supports down by dousing them with water,but the emergency is over as the fire has been put out.

The AP video posted above the article shows how massive the fire was at its height.

This fire under the bridge crossing the Harlem river has caused the suspension and the halting of Metro North commuter train service to and from Grand Central Station, the city’s Office of Emergency Management said.

Even though the heroics of the fire department have knock out the fire, MTA expects the suspension of Metro-North to continue for some time, until the all clear is called, and then they will open it up.

The good part of the story is that there have been no injuries reported from this fire, and no one is suspected to have been hurt.

The disastrous fire provided photographers with a rare opportunity to capture some interesting visuals of the New York skyline, engulfed in flames, emanating off a river,…originating from under a metal suspension bridge…!!!

..a rare opportunity indeed,but we all know that any large structure mysteriously exploding into fire in Manhattan , New York …In September!!!!…will undoubtedly be very unsettling for the people there to witness,..as well as the rest of the nation.
