Offensive Lineman Josh Koeppel,Iowa Football Player Hit By Truck On Monday And Walked Away,…Will Miss Game On Saturday.
Here is an incredible video showing University of Iowa football player Josh Koeppel being hit, head on by a pick-up truck while he was on a Moped,… and surprisingly walking away!
…imagine having to try to run Josh down on the football field!!!..he is truly one tough kid!
Iowa Hawkeye’s head coach Kirk Ferentz describes his player Josh Koeppel’s injuries as …”a lot of scrapes,” and reports that the senior was taken to UI Hospitals and Clinics, where doctors performed various X-rays and CT scans.
They found no serious injuries.(Source)
“I think it was an unfortunate accident, obviously, but he was very fortunate to walk away from it,” Ferentz said.

Coach Ferentz is hopeful Koeppel will return to action soon.
Koeppel was listed as the backup to James Ferentz on the depth chart after the two competed during fall camp for the starting job.(Huffpo)
James Ferentz is the son of head coach Kirk Ferentz.
Take note that Josh Koeppel is not wearing a helmet while riding the moped, and although he truly did have a good stroke of luck here in this accident, I would suggest to him, as I am sure his coach is doing right now, that he wear one while riding the moped in the future.
It’s a lot easier to replace a totally destroyed moped, but impossible to replace your own head.
The best thing here, is that Josh gets another chance at life, and I wish him and his team all the best this season!
