JetBlue Flight Attendant Steven Slater Drops The F-Bomb On Passengers,Grabs Beers,And Quits As He Glides Down The Emergency Exit Slide@!!!…New Working Class Hero!!!

2o year veteran JetBlue flight attendant Steven Slater quit his job Monday in what is being described as the most epic abrupt exit from a job ever,because of how dramatic he ultimately decided to leave.(NY POST)

Steven Slater 38,a 20 year employee of JetBlue Airlines, reportedly is usually a happy-go-lucky, calm professional on his job,but has been under some pressure lately which apparently became unmanageable Monday during a terse interaction with an unruly passenger.(CNN)

The trouble started when an impatient passenger on JetBlue flight 1052 coming from Pittsburgh going to New York, jumped up before the seatbelt sign was turned off to grab her luggage after the plane landed at Kennedy International Airport. She reportedly ignored Slater when he told her to sit down, and when Slater approached the passenger to tell her again to sit down he got hit in the head with her falling bag. When he asked her to apologize she responded with a foul refusal, according to reports.(CBS)

Steven mother said that he told her that the passenger “maliciously” pulled the bin down, striking Steven in the head, and made a point to let her know that it was the bin, and not the bag that hit him and injured his head.(TMZ)

Steven has a cut on his forehead caused by the bin crashing into his head, and I believe the head injury stunned him and caused him to lose his mind temporarily.

This was the breaking point for Steven, because the next thing he did can only be described as ‘flipping out’!

Slater stunned the passengers by spewing profanity and ranting about quitting as the flight from Pittsburgh pulled up to the gate about noon.

“To the f—–g a–hole who told me to f–k off, it’s been a good 28 years,” Slater said.

“I’ve had it. That’s it!”…was the last thing the out of control mad flight attendant said before he grabbed a couple of brewskis and popped one open before activating the emergency exit, witnesses told airport employees.

After tossing his two carry-on bags on the slide, he followed them to the tarmac.(SOURCE)

It took JetBlue about 25 minutes to report the incident to the port Authority police, who tracked him down and found him in bed with his boyfriend at his house in the Rockaway section of New York,later that day.

He was arrested at his home and charged with reckless endangerment and criminal mischief.According to a spokeswoman for Queens District Attorney Richard Brown, Slater is being charged with 2nd and 4th-degree criminal mischief, 1st- and 2nd-degree reckless endangerment and criminal trespass in the 3rd degree.

If convicted he could get seven years in prison.

Steven Slater’s attorney, Howard Turman of the Legal Aide Society, said that his client did not post the $2,500 bail set by a judge at his arraignment Tuesday morning and remains in custody.

He is going to argue that Mr. Slater’s use of the emergency slide was not reckless at all, and that he followed the standard procedure for using it,so that no one was in harm’s way.

When asked why Mr. Slater chose to avoid the conflict by taking the emergency slide, Mr. Turman replied, “It was right there.”(Source)

Not everybody disagree’s with how Steven handle this situation while serving as a flight steward with the public on JetBlue. Some are calling him a “working class hero”, and are identifying with the abuse that he took at the hands of the unruly passenger.(Facebook Support Page)

TMZ.com is reporting that…someone created an FB fan page for Slater less than a day ago — which already has more than 15,000 followers … and continues to grow by the minute.

But the most interesting part is the comment section, which has been taken over by flight attendants across the country who wish they had the cojones to do what Slater did. (Steven Slater is our Fricken Hero!-TMZ.com)

So the upside to all of this for Steven is that his colleagues and peers applaud and support his actions flipping out on the irate passenger, and it is an honor to get the love ,respect and support of your fellow flight attendants nationwide…

…but it’s going to be a drag for him when rent is due, and he finally realizes that he quit his job in this bad economy. He will not be eligible for unemployment even, because he voluntarily quit his job.

At least for one shining moment, he made a statement,had his say,relieved some mounting stress, and moved on with his life. It’s not a good idea to ever burn a bridge,but if your do, do it with style…
