Anapka The ‘Parasailing’ Russian Donkey Rescued From Her Abusers And Will Retire in Luxury In The U.K.
The 17-year-old female donkey, named Anapka, that was forced to parasail as part of a sick publicity stunt over a southern Russian beach, has been rescued from her abusers, by a British newspaper, and will retire to live the rest of her life in luxury.(SOURCE)
The name of the newspaper in the U.K.that bought her is the ‘SUN’, after reporting on the donkey’s abuse, the readers of the ‘SUN” wrote in and strongly recommended that the publisher buy the Anapka, and rescue her.(The SUN)
A recreation company had sent Anapka up into the sky for about 30 minutes for a promotional stunt and the YouTube video of her trip made headlines around the world. When it ran in the ‘SUN’, that disturbed the readers, and it set off a public outcry that led to her rescue.
“Our readers were deeply moved,” Sun correspondent Garry O’Shea told the Associated Press. “We were contacted by thousands of readers. They wanted us to ensure the well-being of this animal.”(SOURCE)
Anapka is currently enjoying her life as a temporary resident of the luxurious Kremlin Horse Riding School, where she will be able to enjoy a large stable, a special menu, massage, sunbathing and showers three times a day.
After that, Anapka, will be taken into a new animal sanctuary built-in Hampshire, Britain, by Harry Redknapp, manager of the football club Tottenham Spurs,to live out the fest of her life, comfortably and safe from abuse or exploitation.
Russian police could not level abuse charges against the stunt coordinators, because no physical harm came to the animal,…but veterinarians at the Moscow riding school have diagnosed that Anapka has suffered traumatic stress, and shows signs of being afraid of humans.(SOURCE)
I am glad that the donkey Anapka has been saved, and the ‘SUN’ should be commended for their kindness to this little female donkey.
