Mitrice Richardson Declared Dead After Going Missing For A Year….Spotted In Las Vegas Alive!!!

Honor student and beauty pageant winner Mitrice Richardson ,24, vanished without a trace in September from a Malibu Sheriff’s station, after having been detained earlier in the evening for exhibiting ‘bizarre’ behavior, and for not paying her $89.00 tab at popular Malibu restaurant.

Richardson had reportedly been diagnosed with Bi-polar disorderr, so maybe this behavior is symptomatic of the disorder.(WIKI)

The Sheriffs on duty at the station that night, have stated that she was in fact acting crazy, but after running her fingerprints for her criminal history, they were done with her because they did not have anything to charge and hold her with, so they were compelled to allow her to leave.(LA TIMES)

They offered to her that she could stay there through the night, and leave in the morning, when she was feeling better.Authorities at the Sherriff substation said she appeared rational, but the now 25-year-old suffers from bipolar disorder. Mitrice walked out the door in Malibu Canyon between 12:30 a.m. and 1:00 a.m,without her wallet,cell phone, ride or transportation in sight,…and has not been seen since.(SOURCE)

That was almost a year ago, and since that time, her father, family, and friends have been on a non-ending search for Mitrice, massive searches have been mounted throughout the malice canyon site where she disappeared, and her family has kept her name and face in the media.(SOURCE)

A court has declared Richardson dead, although no body has been found.It seems to me that the declaration of her death was done prematurely, and rather quickly in light of the absence of a body, or evidence of her demise.

Both of the parents of Mitrice Richardson have filed wrongful death and negligence charges against the authorities.

On July 27, 2010, a Superior court lawsuit was filed by Michael Richardson (father of Mitrice Richardson) alleging that Los Angeles County and individual Sheriff’s deputies were negligent in releasing Mitrice Richardson after she had exhibited signs of mental health problems, without first summoning medical professionals to conduct a mental health evaluation and notifying Ms. Richardson’s family that she was being released. Through this lawsuit, he hopes to gain information that will assist him in finding Mitrice. He also seeks to prevent the Sheriff Department’s negligent practices from harming other families.(SOURCE)

Now, the story is developing a new twist, that may lead to finding Mitrice alive and well after all!

CNN is reporting that….Ronda Hampton, a close friend of Richardson’s family, said an acquaintance of Richardson’s told police he saw her at a casino last month. Hampton said that after observing her for about three hours, the acquaintance approached the woman who appeared to be Richardson and asked, “Where have you been?”

“The woman turned around and looked as if she didn’t know him (the acquaintance) and then looked at him again, then she ran off with some woman,” Hampton told CNN.(SOURCE)

Michael Richardson is convinced he saw his daughter outside a Motel 6 on Fremont Street in January. “The way this young lady walked made me almost get hit by a car in Las Vegas. (I was) trying to run and catch her. Her body mechanics that I saw told me this was my child,” he said. “I’m elated, but I’m reserved at the same token.”

“You’re not in trouble, you’re not subject to arrest. We just want to know you’re OK,” Whitmore said, making law enforcement’s plea to Richardson. “Please contact police or a family member.(SOURCE)

A former high school prom date, Greg Amerson reports to the L.A.Times of his sighting of Mitrice at a Las Vegas casino….Greg Amerson, whom Richardson once took to her winter formal at South Hills High School in West Covina, said he had spotted her at a bar in a Vegas hotel. He later told Lauren Sutton, Richardson’s mother’s sister-in-law, that she was wearing a white dress with white shoes.

“He approached her from behind and called her name and she turned and looked at him and didn’t seem to recognize him,” Sutton said. “Then he said she seemed to recognize him and then she turned and walked off very quickly.”

Amerson took a few days to pass the information on to relatives. Sheriff’s investigators then sought hotel surveillance tapes, but found that they had been taped over. For several days, sheriff’s investigators combed Las Vegas, passing out fliers and talking to strippers, bar managers and prostitutes. In the L.A. area, Richardson had occasionally danced professionally at a lesbian bar.(SOURCE)

Metro Police spokesman Bill Cassell said authorities in Nevada planned a joint news conference with Los Angeles sheriff’s investigators at 11 a.m. today in Las Vegas to seek the public’s help in locating Richardson.

If these reports are as credible as they seem to be, then the good news is that there stands a good chance that Mitrice will be able to be reunited with her family if she so chooses. Why she would disappear without contacting her family is a mystery at this point, but whatever the reasons may be, at this point the priority is to get past it all, and continue life together as a family.
