LeBron James Settles For Less Money,More Sun, Fun, And Weapons In Miami…Dissed Fans In Cleveland Burn His Jersey In Effigy!!!

The long-awaited, and highly anticipated decision by basketball phenom and free agent LeBron James has been announced, and ending weeks of silence and drama, LeBron James said on his ESPN special on Thursday night that he’s decided to join the Miami Heat and leave the Cleveland Cavaliers after an unsuccessful seven-year quest for the championship he covets.

The decision was celebrated wildly in Miami, that already parties 24/7, but it was vilified by the distraught fans in Cleveland. The loyal Cavalier’s fans, who thought for sure he would never leave them,took it in the most bitter way possible, and have been burning his jersey in effigy...(SOURCE)

In a matter of about 30 minutes, LeBron went from the most loved citizen of Cleveland, to the most hated man there, even more hated than Art Modell, who, as the owner of the former Cleveland Brown’s, moved the team to Baltimore in 1996, and re-named them the Ravens!(WIKI)

The upper management of the Cavalier’s issued this statement: “We believe in this team, this organization, this community, and what we will do to compete at the highest level. We believe in the new coach and leader we have in Byron Scott, and the world-class basketball organization and positive and strong culture we’ve established…”(FULL STATEMENT HERE)

The Cleveland Cavalier’s owner, issued this angry open letter response to the James defection where he  characterizes the decision as a “cowardly betrayal” and guaranteed to fans that the Cavaliers will win a title before, “the self-titled former “King” wins one.”… it sounds like there is no love lost!…(OPEN LETTER TO FANS)

Ultimately, what made LeBron choose the Miami Heat, is Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh, Pat Riley,and the chance to win the N.B.A championship, with what could be considered the ‘Dream N.B.A. Team’, and what I expect from them, is the same outcome the Boston Celtics experienced when they put together Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Ray Allen.

He could have made a lot more money staying in Cleveland, or moving to New York,but he went for the championship, breaking a major stereotype associated with today’s supposedly spoiled,self-centered sports stars. He passed up at least an additional 4 1/2 million dollars per year by choosing South Beach.

It should also be noted, in the spirit of unselfishness, the LeBron James’ Group requested they be allowed to sell sponsorship for the special with proceeds going to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America,and the University of Phoenix has partnered with the James’ group to provide deserving students full scholarships to attend one of their college’s and receive a college degree!!!(SOURCE)

Not only did Miami win, but so did the children served by the Boy’s and Girl’s clubs of America, which is something that all fans of the N.B.A. everywhere, no matter what team you root for,this is the type of example that we appreciate from our sports heroes, and it should not be diminished.

At the end of the day,ultimately, the management of the Miami Heat have definitely shifted the balance of power in the N.B.A. in the East.

I can only expect great things to follow,and there will be much money to be made in Miami due to this monumental decision…if LeBron does not get distracted by the honeys they have in South Beach!!!!..definitely not like the ones’ in Cleveland!!!!
