Investigators searching for clues as to what caused India’s worst air disaster in more than a decade recovered the cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder Sunday from the charred remains of an Air India flight.

Some clues to what happened could come from the plane’s cockpit voice recorder, which was recovered Sunday, the civil aviation ministry said. The device had suffered some fire damage, but it is expected to yield information, the agency said.

It could take two weeks to analyze the information on the cockpit voice recorder, the ministry said.(CNN)

Air India on Sunday asserted that the pilot and co-pilot of its Boeing 737 aircraft were experienced and well-[picapp align=”right” wrap=”true” link=”term=air+india&iid=8880855″ src=”0/7/4/1/Air_India_Plane_57ad.jpg?adImageId=12960422&imageId=8880855″ width=”234″ height=”176″ /]rested.

“No, both were well-rested,” Air India chairman and managing director Arvind Jadhav said in response to a question on whether pilot fatigue caused the crash,which is fair speculation.

…if this is their best,I can only imagine what their worst must be like!!!

Air India has announced the amount of the interim compensation the victims of the crash will receive. The amount is made up of rupees,which will start at 10,00,000 for the deceased (adults), Rs. 500,000 (kids) and Rs 200,000 for the injured.

There is no fair compensation for the loss of a loved one in what appears to be a tragic accident….Let’s hope they identify the problem, and fix it, for the sake of the people of India…
