Los Angeles Apartment Fire Injures 13 Near Downtown In The City Of Angels!!!

LA Fire department responds to an apartment fire...

It’s a  beautiful day here for me,in downtown Los Angeles,but unfortunately…it has not been that way for a few unfortunate souls here this morning, because they had to endure the shock and trauma of having to escape from the inside of a burning building and fight for their lives!!!

The AP is reporting that an apartment fire has injured 13 people this Saturday, here in downtown Los Angeles, including a woman who jumped from a window, and a 5-year-old girl who suffered third-degree burns, witnesses said.

Several others were treated for smoke inhalation.

The fire broke out just before 9 a.m. Saturday on the second floor of the building on 255 S. Loma Dr. near Belmont High School.(SOURCE)

Crews plucked residents from windows in the three-story building after the fire broke out about 8:45 a.m. in a corner apartment, city fire Capt. Steve Ruda said.

“We had a ladder in nearly every window. People left their breakfast plates on the table as they scrambled to get out quickly,” he said.[picapp align=”left” wrap=”true” link=”term=apartment+fire&iid=6962982″ src=”c/e/5/a/Fire_Scorches_Berlin_5252.jpg?adImageId=12793211&imageId=6962982″ width=”234″ height=”154″ /]

The injuries included smoke inhalation, broken bones and scrapes, Ruda said. Two people were in critical condition, including the 5-year-old who was being treated at a burn center.(SOURCE)

The fire started on the second floor of the 42-unit apartment building in a densely populated area about a mile west of downtown. At least one second-floor unit was destroyed, and flames lapped up to third floor.

Residents of at least eight units damaged by smoke or fire were of being temporarily relocated.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.(SOURCE)
