Chicago Shooter Kills 4, Including 3 Children
A 32-year-old Wisconsin man went room to room with a 9mm pistol early Wednesday-killing a pregnant 16-year-old , Keyshai Fields, who was four months pregnant; a 3-year-old girl named Keleasha Larry; and a 7-month-old boy who was the shooter’s son, according to law enforcement officials, in a brick home on the Southwest Side, according to his family and the Chicago Police.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed the dead to be: 7-month-old Jahad Larry, 3-year-old Kelesha Larry, 16-year-old Keyshai Fields and 19-year-old Tawana Thompson Larry.
Two others injured – the children’s 57-year-old grandmother, Leona Larry who was visiting from Wisconsin and a 13-year-old boy were taken to a hospital.
The gunman had also chased a 12-year-old girl out of the house and fired his weapon at her, but missed, then fled the scene. The person said the girl notified police.
Officers arrested the suspected gunman several miles away about 90 minutes after the 4:30 a.m. shooting. They also found a handgun but had not determined Wednesday if it was the weapon used in the slayings.
The shootings may have resulted from a domestic situation, given that in September 2009,the suspect was charged with disorderly conduct and battery after he allegedly attacked his wife Thompson, 18 at the time, in a van in a Wal-Mart parking lot in Madison.
The delusional gunman told the authorities that Allah had told him to kill his family, and that he was upset that he had run out of bullets during his rampage, but what we know is that it was not Allah who was speaking to him, but more like Satan.
This terrible crime should not be blamed on Islam; but blame it on the deteriorating mental health of many of the poor in our society, that fall through the cracks and do not receive the medical assistance they so desperately require,… and the fact that a mentally disturbed person can purchase a gun with a supply of bullets, and is allowed to drive with it, anywhere…unsupervised.
