Franklin,Indiana Woman Accused of Setting Dogs on Fire!!!
Whats wrong with people!@?@?!
A central Indiana woman faces two felony counts of animal cruelty after she allegedly doused her two pet dogs with gasoline and set them on fire.
Katherine Brotherton is accused of dousing her families two dogs, six month old Jake, a pit bull mix, and Boomer, a 5-year-old Blue Heeler mix that spent his whole life outside chained to a tree, and set them on fire.(SOURCE)
She claims that the motivation for the assault on the dogs was instigated by the fact that both dogs had bitten her.She said that after the dog bite attack, the only reasonable thing to do to prevent it from happening again was to burn the dogs alive.
Upon her arrest, the authorities could not find any physical evidence that Katherine had been bitten by anything, and it appears as though she is lying.
Her parents,May and TJ Brotherton told the police that their daughter has been exhibiting schizophrenic behavior for the past month, and did not know what to do to get her help.
“We’ve tried to get her to take her medications and she refuses,” said May Brotherton. May and her husband say they loved their dogs and called 9-1-1 right after they found Katherine had tried to kill them Tuesday March 9th.
“The dispatcher said who do you care more for your dogs or your daughter and I said, I’m standing there thinking she’s killing my dogs, she’s fine but my dogs need help,” said May Brotherton.(SOURCE)
Katharine Brotherton remains in the Johnson county jail facing two felony counts for animal cruelty for intentionally torturing an animal. Stricter cruelty laws mean she could face up to six years in jail on the two counts.
Lets hope that Jake and Boomer are safe, and will recover, and that this disturbed young woman receives the mental assistance in prison that she so desperately needs.
Jake, the six month old pit bull puppy was burned over 85% of his body!!!
