TV Pioneer Davey Crockett Star Fess Parker, Dead At The Age Of 85…

Iconic and pioneering motion picture and TV star, who just happened to play legendary pioneers in his films,Fess Parker, has died today of natural causes at his home in Santa Ynez, California, near the Fess Parker Winery.(TMZ

Fess Parker entertained kids in the 50’s starring as” Davey Crockett” in the Walt Disney produced television series, making the coonskin cap the number one must have fashion trend for children at that time, and in the 60’s he created a new legion of fans in the equally as popular “Daniel Boone” series.(WIKI

I remember the theme song and the part where Fess Parker as Daniel Boone would throw a small ax at a tree and split it in two!!!..it was the coolest thing my brother and I had ever seen anyone do with an ax, and we would copy his every move, as we practiced throwing an ax just like Daniel Boone!!!!

My dad had a lot of them lying around the yard, and we lived by many trees to practice on!!!

As an adult, I had the pleasure of staying at his Fess Parker DoubleTree Resort in Santa Barbara when I would frequently visit friends studying at UC-Santa Barbara, as well as tasting his wine from his families winery!!!

The world is a better place because Mr Fess Parker’s business and entertainment accomplishments. He will truly be missed!!!
