47 Year Old Herschel Walker Wins MMA Debut!!!
Former NFL star Herschel Walker stopped Hungarian fighter Greg Nagy in the third round Saturday night to win his mixed-martial arts début.
The 47-year-old former Heisman Trophy winner,and ex-NFL superstar running back is a fifth-degree black belt with training in Tae Kwon Do, Kenpo karate and Muay Thai.
The former collegiate and NFL great who also competed on the U.S. Olympic bobsled team in 1992, Walker defeated newcomer Greg Nagy (1-2) of Phoenix when the referee stopped the fight at 2:17 of the third round.
Walker,last seen as a competitor on NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice,is in stellar shape especially for his age,especially if you compared his condition to fellow contestant and sports star Dennis Rodman,who is currently starring in this season’s ‘Celebrity Rehab’…
Herschel Walker has stated that if the MMA had existed when he was growing up, he would have not been a football player.
Knowledgeable fans have said that his first match showed a lot of promise, but that Walker, who is new to the sport, must work on his defensive skills, and perfect his ground game.
