Lincoln County Woman Shoots And Kills Intruder…He Made Her Day
Donna Jackson,a Lincoln county Oklahoma woman will not face any charges after she was forced to shoot and kill an intruder who was breaking into her home, while she was there alone.
She is shielded from prosecution under the Oklahoma…”Make My Day”…law, that protects victims from murder prosecutions when they are forced to protect themselves from imminent danger and bodily harm, by using lethal force.
It is a self-defense law, and it is appropriately applied to this case.

This past Saturday night, Donna Jackson woke up to her dog barking like someone was in her backyard. She went to her backdoor and sure enough she was face to face with a man trying to break in.
“Oh he’s getting ready to break the window,” said Jackson to the dispatcher.
Jackson immediately went and got her shotgun, hoping an officer would get there so she didn’t have to use it.
The intruder kept pushing his way into her house, and Donna Jackson, who was on the phone talking to a 911 dispatcher, was forced to stop him with a blast from her shot-gun.

Jackson shot Billy Dean Riley right in the chest, killing him instantly. Bye-bye Billy…you are ought of there…
The shooting is being investigated as a homicide but the sheriff says Jackson did what she had to do.
My personal feeling is that she should be given a police commendation, and a reward, as a message to all the other would be criminals out there, that this might happen to you.
The unfortunate thing about all of this is that Donna Jackson had to be put into a position to kill, that she obviously would have preferred not to have to do.
I am glad she is alive and well, and I can only say that I am glad she had her gun and knew how to properly use it. If she did not, she would have been killed herself.
She did the public a service.

Clearly, this guy was *NOT* “trying to get in”…he was knocking on the door, trying to wake whoever was in the house…clearly he thought he was at someone’s house that he knew. He was drunk, his sister had passed out and he had run into a ditch trying to get her to a hospital.
This woman killed a guy who was trying to get help after getting stuck in a ditch trying to get his sister to the hospital.
This is f***ked up.

My advice to all drunks reading this…if you are that drunk, just stay where you are at and sleep it off.
Other than that,if you wake up dead and all shot up, then you know you must be in Oklahoma…and
not ‘Dawson’s Creek’.

I walk around CCW most of the time, and think everybody should train, and equip themselves to protect self and property. But can’t we all agree that you gotta wait until you’re threatened with serious bodily harm before you’re cleared to fire? You ain’t supposed to kill somebody for being stupid, drunk, crazy or scary. The castle doctrine doesn’t mean you can kill a guy for breaking and entering. What if he gets in, and passes out drunk, or gets in, and then realizes he’s in the wrong place? Don’t make all of us gun owners look like nuts by claiming self-defense before the victim is attacked. Jeez, most of you probably think she should have shot the guy at the far end of the driveway, “because I know he wasn’t up to no good, trespassing in the middle of the night.”

Breaking and entering into any house is a deadly threat,no matter what condition you may be in.
You unfortunetly are in the wrong place doing the wrong thing drunk,high,crazy…whatever,..you are shot.
Self defense,and sort the rest out ,alive,and in court,if it goes there.

She was fully justified in shooting. The point of confrontation was when he broke the glass door. Let’s not forget, that once he broke through the door, it could’ve been a split second before her safety was compromised. So what if he was trying to protect his sister. He was driving drunk and breaking and entering. Wally Cleaver sir, you are an idiot.

That’s why he threw the patio table throught the glass back door right? …he was trying to get help. Is this now how you knock on the door? To what point must one wait to protect themselves? This was completley justified.

Today the authorities declared the shooting to be justified, and she will not be facing any charges.
