Thank God for Republican Congressman Joseph Cao of Louisiana. He has single handedly rescued our country from further falling into the morass that is our current health care system, that works for only the wealthiest of Americans, and has voted his conscience and for our survival.

He was the only Republican in the house to vote in support of health care reforms, and for that I applaud him

I traditionally have felt that the totality of the Republican party are hell-bent on destroying our unity here in American, simply because their party lost the presidential election.

What I have witnessed from them is a shameful display of poor sportsman ship, and I am amazed by their insistence on lowering themselves on a daily basis, by following the leader of their party, Rush Limbaugh and his sidekick Glen Beck.

Even the most conservative members within the Republican party has been embarrassed by his party following these TV entertainers over the edge, and into a direction that they can not save themselves from.

They needed to have a new leader, who will boldly follow no one but his own personal conscience.

That congressman has come to us, and his name is Joseph Cao.

If there were more thoughtful Republicans like Congressman Cao, then our country may stand a chance for a better future. We need a two-party system, but we do not need a Republican party morphing into the KKK, which is exactly what has been happening to them for the past 12 months.

Ex-President George W. Bush wants nothing to do with them, and I do not blame him, I applaud him.

He is aware that there is no future for any of us if we cause a rift between our races. We are a proud multi-cultural community.

His wife, used to rock her babies to sleep to the tunes of Bob Marley, which is a cool thing for her to have done.I think the American citizens will come to learn that President Bush was being manipulated against his will, by the hateful forces that control the Republican Party. There really should be a middle ground, but there seems to be none.

Here is a quote from the Congressman’s website….

Tonight, Congressman Anh “Joseph” Cao (LA-2) voted in favor of the comprehensive health reform bill, H.R. 3962, the Affordable Health Care for America Act.

Of his vote, Cao said:  “Tonight, I voted to keep taxpayer dollars from funding abortion and to deliver access to affordable health care to the people of Louisiana.

Cao said:  “I read the versions of the House [health reform] bill.  I listened to the countless stories of Orleans and Jefferson Parish citizens whose health care costs are exploding – if they are able to obtain health care at all.  Louisianans needs real options for primary care, for mental health care, and for expanded health care for seniors and children.

The bill passed the House at a 220-215 vote.

Cao said:  “Today, I obtained a commitment from President Obama that he and I will work together to address the critical health care issues of Louisiana including the FMAP crisis and community disaster loan forgiveness, as well as issues related to Charity and Methodist Hospitals.  And, I call on my constituents to support me as I work with him on these issues.

Cao said:  “I have always said that I would put aside partisan wrangling to do the business of the people.  My vote tonight was based on my priority of doing what is best for my constituents.

Thank you mister Congressman for saving America, some of my favorite relatives live in Louisiana, and I will tell them to step across party lines to support your future causes.

Lesson here is that ALL Republicans are not bad at all…some are actually good people and great citizens.

  1. I think that it was the right and brave thing to do to vote with his district in mind, even if it meant crossing party lines and receiving the kind of backlash from some people that he is.
Alot of the media are saying that he might have made the right decision when it comes to thinking about his re-election as well.
