Ice Skating Captive Bear Kills Circus Owner in BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan

Why Bears Attack People

Why Bears Attack People

Why are people surprised that a  Bear would get upset after having been forced to wear ice skates,  humiliate himself for years in front of misguided humans, and heartless and cruel trainers?

Bears are aggressive by nature, and probably prefer to be around other bear colonies, surviving and thriving in the wild. Having grown up in a city with the worlds best Zoo, I am a staunch supporter of animal research, if it is an effort to preserve the species for the future, and to conduct studies to help the animals survive in their natural habitat, while they face the challenges brought on by thew human destruction of their habitats, and the shrinking supply of food to sustain a large bear community.

If I were locked up, or in bondage as a slave, I would try to kill my captors, and escape every chance I got!  I am surprised that circus bears do not attack more often.

Last Wednesday,at a circus in Russia, a bear decided that it was through with being humiliated for the pleasure of men, and went on a rampage against his masters.

The wire services report…The director of a circus arena says an ice-skating bear turned on its trainers, killing one and seriously wounding another.

A 29-year-old circus employee, who attempted to rescue Potapov while he was being mauled, was severely injured.

The bear, which was part of the Russian State Circus, killed Dmitri Potapov, 25, a circus director who was visiting the show in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

An animal handler who tried to stop the attack suffered bruising to the brain and lacerations to his scalp.

It is unclear why the bear, which was wearing ice skates at the time, attacked Mr Potapov.

Police say they shot the bear dead.

The bear was part of the travelling Russian state circus, which is currently performing in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

Deadly attacks are rare in the country’s circuses, which often train bears to wear skates and play ice hockey.

Now …I am surprised about that….
