USA Today is reporting very sad news about missing  Florida little girl,7-year-old Somer Renee Thompson.

…Authorities have positively identified the child’s body found in a Georgia landfill as that of 7-year-old Somer Thompson, who vanished while home from school in Orange Park, Fla.

Her death has been ruled a homicide. Police have not said how or where she was killed.

Her body was found yesterday in the landfill near Folkston, Ga., about 50 miles from her home outside Jacksonville. She disappeared Monday afternoon…

Police say Somer Renee Thompson disappeared after she became separated from her twin brother and older sister while walking home from school.

The body was discovered on Wednesday night after investigators combed through 100-tons of garbage.The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting in an autopsy.
