Jerry Brice’s Gesture Drawings-Sketching With The Quickness
These are a few random selections from one of my sketchbooks. I mainly practice quick sketch techniques, in life drawing classes that I am teaching, or participating in. The goal is to capture the movement and flow of the pose, in a somewhat anatomically correct way, primarily limiting myself to line work. The models are nude here, so I can study how the compression and contraction of the flesh and boneĀ causes a reaction in the fabric.
This is also how I study human motion, and I frequently use reference models to create cartoon animation. It is just a basic skill that benefits whatever animation, illustration project that I may work on, because people enjoy seeing a cartoon character in full motion….
Sweet! I love sketches as much as any art.
